All corporate social actions by Bunge companies in Brazil are developed by the Bunge Foundation. Created in 1955, the entity aims at sharing knowledge and involving the employees of Bunge companies and other stakeholders in the discussion and solution of the challenges presented at the communities around Bunge unities, electing the educational area as its focus of performance. Its actions are supported by four pillars:
Developed by Bunge companies’ employees at public elementary schools, by means of the Comunidade Educativa program.
Directed to public school network teachers, such as the ReciCriar program –pedagogy of the possible.
Held by means of awards, such as the Bunge Foundation Award, directed to academic production and the Brazilian Teachers’ Award, valuing public school educators.
Guaranteed through maintenance and dissemination of memory practice and preservation, like the one held by the Bunge Memory Center.
Regardless of the region where they take place and the public to which they are directed to, the actions are directed by:
- Respect to local reality – The Bunge Foundation does not work with ready projects. The actions are planned and carried out in partnership with the local community;
- Investment in the formation of partners – all those involved in the programs have to understand the concepts employed and present their view of the process so that we act within a consensus;
- Stimulus to social protagonist - each partner involved has to undertake the project implemented by assuming responsibility in the process.
Contributing to citizenship development by means of education and knowledge valuation actions.
Being a global reference in citizenship construction.
- Integrity: honesty and sense of justice direct our social actions;
- Respect to diversity: without it there is no social work;
- Partnership: we value the sum of efforts and competencies in all actions we promote;
- Commitment: we are dedicated, motivated and responsible.
